[Fightcade]flycast Match-making Network Settings (Metal Slug 6, KOFXI)

[Introduction]

Recently, as FightCade was updated, I heard good news as a metal slug fan, and the Metal Slug 6 server, which could only be found in the sponsor account, was fully opened this time.

However, unlike ordinary FightCade clients, the connection with the client seems to be unstable yet. However, the match-making network feature brought by flycast can be connected without having to share IP addresses, allowing for safer network play. While filming the video, it came out quite slowly whether it could not withstand two emuls in the underdeveloped pc specification, but fortunately, it was possible to play smoothly in the test connected with the opponent.

The process of progress is as follows.

0. Initialize Settings

1. Key Settings

2. Network Settings

3. Meet opponent at Fightcade server

4. Code Exchange and connect

5. Play

Test Video

[0. Initialize Settings]

First of all, those who have already set up before their mouse may not be able to react properly. For those who don't, just in case, let's proceed with the initialization.

go to the fightcade folder and moved to the files emu.cfg for flycast.

fightcade\emulator\flycast

Delete that emu.cfg, and then Copy one emu.default.cfg.
and Change the name to emu.cfg.
I was able to execute smoothly without touching the basics. So you won't have to hit it hard.

[1. Key mapping]

Next, run flycast to set the key first.

Go to the setting - controls menu.

First, set the keyboard to ALL in case you want to play offline or remotely via parsec. This will allows control settings up to 4p.

Then press the map button to move the keyboard.

It seems difficult because it is based on a dreamcast, but don't worry, changing the dreamcast controls on the right to arcade controls will make it easier to read.

When you map the required buttons, the key setting is completed.

Directional keys, buttons 1 to 5, service and test can be set for substrate settings.

By any chance, save it for readers who are lazy to read the previous post.

at flycast settings, numbers will exist.
button 1 - button A
button 2 - button B
button 3 - button C
button 4 - button D
button 5 - button E
I'll check the settings on the network again and supplement them.

[2. Network Settings]

Next is setting up match networking.
Touch the netplay tab on the dojo menu.
Check enable Internet matching and don't touch anything.
Press the done button above to finish the setup.

[3. Meet opponent at Fightcade server]

Look for an opponent. Whether you're testing, making an appointment, or running into each other, let's do it at your discretion.

[4. Code exchange and connect]

If you have determined the Client and host, here you first describe for the host.
If you meet someone in the FightCade lobby server, run the flycast emulator offline.
Then change offline to HOST.
After changing to HOST, change the player name and run the game to get the code.

It doesn't matter sharing code because the code is randomly generated, but you just need to tell the opponent who you want to connect with.

The opponent accessed the code and came in. Set the delay with the "detact delay" button and start the game.

<JOIN>
Next is JOIN's situation.
After changing the status above to JOIN, start the game.

If you are prompted to write the opponent's code at this time, it means that it is set normally without problem.
If you enter the code that the opponent told you, the HOST side will open a window to set the delay, and when the delay is determined, the game will start.

You can set the details through the video.
The rompile will be based on mame0.218 version, with Atomiswave Bios and the corresponding roms.

Thank you for your great contribution, blueeminder, and I hope it can be played directly on FightCade servers next time.
